Hand-crafted original
This shield bears the raven device associated with King Matthias Corvinus, one of the most distinctive emblems of late medieval Central Europe. Set against a pale field and rendered in a restrained palette, it carries the unmistakable authority of a royal badge while remaining elegant in presentation.
Built from two-layer plywood, this shield is faced with linen, finished with gesso, and hand-painted with the raven device in bold black. The surface is then oiled for water repellency while preserving the character of the painted finish. A leather-bound rim completes the piece, giving it both durability and a refined period appearance. Every detail is executed with close attention to the visual character of the historical original.
